The Apprenticeship & Training Company is Oxfordshire’s first government-approved Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA). The not-for-profit company was set up on behalf of Cherwell District Council and was awarded ATA status by the Education & Skills Funding Agency in 2016.
An Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) recruits, employs and arranges training for Apprentices on behalf of employers. Apprentices are employed by the ATA, which then places them with a host employer. This means that businesses who would like to employ an Apprentice but may not currently have enough work for a full time Apprentice can still offer placements.
Other services and projects include:
- Work with schools to provide impartial, independent information on apprenticeships
- Advice and support for businesses on all aspects of apprenticeships, including recruitment, training provision, funding and the Apprenticeship Levy.
- Assistance for companies seeking to deliver social impact through skills and industry initiatives
