The Oxford Academic Health Science Network (Oxford AHSN) is one of 15 AHSNs licensed for five years by NHS England in 2013. It covers a population of three million living in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.
AHSNs are a key part of the NHS architecture with a long-term future, according to NHS England National Director of Strategy and Innovation Ian Dodge. Speaking at NHS England’s Board meeting on 21 July 2017, he said: “We should retain a comprehensive network of 15 AHSNs because they have proved their worth.”
The Oxford AHSN works with a large and growing list of partners in the NHS, universities and industry within and beyond our region.
Our vision is ‘Best health for our population and prosperity for our region’
